What Is Hazina Accelerator Program

Hazina Accelerator is a flagship program of Hazina Group Foundation that seeks to address the pain points majority of entrepreneurs go through when starting and/or running their businesses.

Did you know that 98% of startups fail within the first 5 years? Why do you think they fail?

This is not because the founders do not know their businesses but they fail for simple reasons that most entrepreneurs lack relevant skills to effectively manage their businesses, they do not have someone to hold their hands and guide them towards the right direction, and very few entrepreneurs are privileged to have ready capital at their disposal to help them execute their business ideas and scale up to the next level.

The accelerator program has been designed to help entrepreneurs in Kenya access relevant knowledge, mentorship support and seed funding to realize their business potential.

Businesses completing the program shall have the ability to generate more revenues, attract investments, create job opportunities and make a real impact in the society.

Eligibility Criteria:

Post revenue or with a minimum viable product that has high potential to generate sustained revenues.
Have a clear business model which is scalable and business must be operating for a minimum of 6 months.
Solving a genuine need in the society and has a social or environmental focus.
Operating in Kenya with at least one of the founders/owners participating in the business activities full time.
Must clearly recognize the value of participating in the program. We expect high level of dedication and commitment.

What We Do

Hazina Accelerator Program

We help startup businesses in Kenya gain relevant skills to grow their businesses, access mentorship support and seed capital to realize their business potentials.

We look for businesses that are:

Solving a genuine problem and need in the society.
Post revenue or pre-revenue with a minimum viable product.
Demonstrates a clear business model and is scalable.
Environmentally friendly.
Operating for a minimum of 6 months

Business Skills

Once selected, you will undergo a comprehensive training where you will gain relevant knowledge and skills to run and scale your business.

Mentorship Support

You will access mentorship support from professional mentors and business experts drawn from different professional backgrounds who shall guide you on navigating the entrepreneurship journey.

Financial Capital (Seed)

You stand a chance to win seed funding for your business up to a sum of KES 150,000/= to enable you execute your innovative business ideas and strategies.

Linkages & Advisory Support

We provide our investee companies linkages to markets and investors. You shall also access continuous business advisory throughout the investment period.

What is Hazina Accelerator all about?

This is a program seeking to provide young entrepreneurs with skills and capital to effectively run and grow their businesses. We also link entrepreneurs with experts within their business segments to provide continuous advice.

Who is eligible to join Hazina Accelerator?

Any youth or woman with a business that is operating for at least 6 months either already generating revenues or with a minimum viable product that has good potential to sell in the market is eligible to join the program.

How much capital do you provide to businesses?

Depending on the business plans, we shall invest cash of up to KES 300,000/= towards meeting the prescribed goals of the business. Our cash investment shall not exceed more than 60% of the required capital for the business or project.

Do I have to give you equity share in my business?

No, we don’t take any equity in your business. Our investment is purely on a revenue share agreement based on actual monthly revenue generated with the entrepreneur retaining a larger share to meet the operating costs of the business. The engagement period shall be between 1 to 4 years.
